3 – Specifications of Vietnamese Packing Plywood

  • Size: 1220mm x 2440mm, 915mm x 1830mm …
  • Thickness: From 4.6mm to 25mm
  • Face veneer: Okoume, Bintangor, Styrax, …
  • Core: Acacia, Eucalyptus or Mixed wood 
  • Glue: E2, E1, E0 or customize 
  • Tolerance: +/- 0.5 mm
  • Humidity: <=14%

4 – What is the production process of packing plywood different from other types of plywood?

Packing plywood is considered a highly economically efficient commodity because the price is extremely cheaper than other types of plywood. Therefore, the process to create packing plywood is also simpler. 

Belonging to the plywood line, Vietnamese packing plywood will also be created from thin veneers pressed through the heat pressing process with specialized adhesives. However, the surface of the board will not be coated with protective layers such as film, glue or other surfaces 

To make standard plywood packing, 5 basic steps are needed as follows: 

  • Step 1: Peel and peel the wood into core veneer. 
  • Step 2: After peeling, the filler will be dried so that the moisture content reaches <13%. 
  • Step 3: Heat pressing. The core veneer is coated with 2 more face veneer layers and put into the hot press 
  • Step 4: Standard surface treatment. 
  • Step 5: Cut into standard sizes and pack.

In addition, Vietnamese packing plywood is also divided into 2 different types of core veneer: 

  • Core with hardwood as Acacia wood. The density will be 610 kgs/CBM. But only with AA, 2 sides Bintangor Face and Back.
  • Core with mixedwood. The density will be around 530 kgs/CBM
