Plywood is an engineered timber product made from layers (or plies) of thin sheets of wood veneers, which are glued together under pressure at high temperature to form a thicker, stronger and more flexible flat sheet. The logs used for each sheet undergo preparation such as steaming or hot water dipping before being fed into a lathe, which peels them into thin plies approximately 1mm to 4mm thick, forming each layer of the sheet. Plywood usage is widespread as it combines numerous beneficial properties with economical costs.
High-quality plywood sheets are exceptionally strong and resistant to warping or cracking from atmospheric moisture changes, making them dependable for diverse applications.
Let find out how plywood is useful?

Plywood usage in construction
- Making construction formwork
In the construction industry, the usage of plywood in formwork is replacing traditional materials like lumber, iron, and steel. Plywood formwork offers excellent bearing capacity comparable to other materials, while also being easy to construct, cost-effective, and reusable
Vietnamese using film faced plywood for formwork
There are various types of plywood for construction formwork, including film-coated, glue-coated, and heat-pressed options. Among these, film-faced plywood is the most popular choice due to its numerous advantages
- Making floors and walls
Temporary structures like warehouses and partitions often require quick mobility and rely on various types of Vietnamese plywood, including commercial plywood, film-faced plywood, and glue-coated plywood. The plywood usage in these applications is ideal for floors and partitions, providing cost savings due to their moisture resistance, mold resistance, high-temperature durability, and reduced warping, all at a lower price compared to other materials.

Plywood used in packaging
Plywood usage in packaging involves a type of plywood with the lowest price in the market today. This type of board does not need to focus too much on external aesthetics but on the core of the plank. Despite its low price, it ensures solidity and rigidity, making it widely used for packing shipping boxes, making cushioned seat pads, and making pallets.
In addition, the base closes pallets, LVL plywood is used for production due to its good long-length bearing properties.
